So at least I have that one down.
This was the image I felt represented me in some way.
And it isn't just because I love them.

The trailer for Sin city. A very interesting piece to me for it's use of contrast
and silhouetting, along with picking up specific colours for impact.

This isn't a post related to one artist, but many artists involved in propaganda artwork over 100 years.
There are a few iconic images along with many new artists using this style to push beliefs and ideas now. I came across the artist Brian Lane Winfield Moore and enjoyed his take on things, using modern social networking sites and things people can relate to, whilst still using an old style.

During our first session we discussed what design is. What it is to me now, and what it is to many different people. Upon looking around online it is clear that many people cannot name it. I believe this is because everything around us is designed. Someone designed the way the website I'm typing from now is setup. The icon for Blogger itself. The chairs we sit on for lectures. Most things have passed through design stages based around looks. People themselves are all about aesthetics.
Our group came up with words such as communication, development, change, narrative, understanding, emotions, construction, individuality and inspiration.
Visual communication is what a graphic designer is all about.
